Botanical Printing Full Day - Paper & Fabric - Sat 26th July - 9:30am- 4.30pm

£80.00

The botanical printing process involves steaming the fabric and leaves or flowers together for 2 hours. Whilst waiting for our paper and fabric to steam, we can create more patterns using the Hapazome technique - bashing the colour out of the leaf or flower onto prepared fabric. This can be quite noisy so we can also use this time to walk around the dye garden on the willow field.

No previous experience is needed and all materials needed are provided. Please wear wellies if wet weather and wrap up if cold. Hot drinks are provided.

If you’d like to bring leaves along from your own garden, please do- here is a little suggested list of those that we know can work well: Oak, Copper Beech, Hazel, Eucalyptus, Smoke Bush (Cotinus) Birch, Willow, Rose, Fruit bushes and fruit tree leaves, Fern, Maple and Strawberry leaves. Flowers: Hollyhock, Goldenrod, Weld, Dyer’s Chamomile, Dianthus, Dahlia, Dyer’s Coreopsis, Tagetes, Geranium, Violet and Golden Marguerite.
