Manja .

My interest in basket making started when I lived on the Isle of Skye. There was a lovely, generous group of basket makers who encouraged others to come along to meet up and learn. I found it really enjoyable and relaxing. They were so helpful and willing to pass on their knowledge and skills.

I continued to make at home when we moved back to the mainland. It was getting to know Karen that got me involved with a more co-operative group again as she was starting to set up Naturally Useful.

In 2020 I returned to Naturally Useful to help in the making of a variety of different basket styles.

I love all the different colours of the willow and enjoy making practical items like shopping baskets, foraging trugs and log baskets.

My other interests include gardening, natural dyes and using yarns in knitting and crocheting.
