how to tie a wrap with willow

I originally hale from North Yorkshire, close to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. I have lived in Scotland for 7 years and made the move to this area last summer in 2022. I’ve been visiting the area for many years as I have family who migrated here.

I did a day’s workshop with Naturally Useful in the summer of 2021 and really enjoyed it. After my decision to move I imagined working for Naturally Useful. I booked onto a week long course and I’ve never left!

I’ve always been creative, it’s in my blood, I love working with my hands. In the past I’ve made jewelry, stained glass, weaving, felting, and I can knit and sew…. Jack of all trades, hopefully a master of willow in the future. I love creating with the willow, it’s versatility and beautiful natural colours.

I took part in my first willow harvest in January 2023. It’s so fascinating to learn about the whole process. My willow journey has just begun, it’s so inspiring and educational, learning an old craft. I’m soaking it up. Working with a natural product in the setting of the pole barn with beautiful people really feeds and nourishes my soul.
