This is a beautiful video on death and dying by a local charity called ‘ Pushing Up Daisies’.
A blessing beyond words…. In the days between death and burial or cremation, people now have the option to care for their deceased loved one’s body themselves. This tender act can aid in grieving, bring a sense of fulfillment and help families, including children, to meet death as something normal and natural.
We encourage families to create a more personal, home-based, DIY or low cost funeral, where people make some or all of the arrangements themselves. It is equally possible for it to be part of a funeral organised by a funeral director. In Scotland, we are fortunate that there are few laws limiting us doing what we feel is right.
